      Hello People,

This is Rohan Jere and I am currently working under student solar car project. We design and develop a purely solar electric hybrid vehicle for student competitions. This year we successfully designed and manufactured a Carbon fibre monocoque.

We used ANSYS ACP for its analysis, but we have several doubts regarding proper use of it.

So we want help from you all regarding it.

Especially the student teams of FSAE which are experienced in it.

      Thank you.

Hi Rohan, Sounds very interesting project. We sponsored several solar plus FSAE teams doing a great job.

Please post your specific problem to so that other members can join to help you out.

      Hi Rohan,

Welcome to ANSYS student community. ANSYS Composite PrepPost software provides all necessary functionalities for finite element analysis of layered composite structures.

Feel free to post question for ACP PrepPost. I'll try my best to help answering them.

      Hi!

I've just started with ACP and referred to this video on Youtube : https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=PQItLgfTxnE&t=270s .

For this I know that shell file has to be uploaded in on workbench, but after meshing the file and updating the process, i got an error of DP0,i.e., "failed to update the setup component".

Can anyone guide me through this?

      Hi Srikrishna,

have you found a solution to your question? I ran into the same problem I think. After having a surface geometry and a Quad4 mesh I get two errors whn tyring to open the ACP setup.

I get an error in ACP saying: 'StandardShellView' object has no attribute 'shell' and another error in Workbench saying: 'At least one exception occurred during the refresh that made it impossible for ACP to complete the process'.

Do you have the same problem? Or did you find a solution for yours?

      .

      Hello everyone!

I am a student of Industrial Engineering Master's Degree. I am currently developing my Final Project and it would be very helpful if someone could please help me with one specific doubt.

I need to use ANSYS Composite PrepPost tool to calculate the Failure Index of a Flat Plate. However, I was not able to find this parameter in the program. The most similar factor I have found is Inverse Reserve Factor within the Composite Failure Tool, but it is not what I need.

The definition of the needed index is as follows:

Failure Index = Ply strain/ Limit strain

When the result is greater than 1, failure is predicted in the ply.

Do you know if there is any way to calculate the Failure Index in ANSYS PrepPost, directly or indirectly?

Thank you in advance and Kind Regards

      .
