Hello Kumar,
I can help you with meshing. Please create a Workbench Project Archive .wbpz file and attach it to your post above, as long as the archive is < 120 MB.
I see you are on ANSYS 16.0, can you upgrade to a newer version?Regards,
Peter -

Hello Kumar,
I can hardly see the error messages and mesh settings from the screenshots. Can you please attach pictures with higher resolutions?
Thanks,
Kun

Hello,
Current version is R19.1 Please see if you can use it.
Next the image is not so clear. It looks like some face has been highlighted.
First check geometry in Design Modeler with Tools --> Analysis Tools --> Fault Detection. Geometry should not have any errors before going to meshing.
If its ok, you can use virtual topology for the face highlighted in meshing. Right click on meshing and insert virtual topology. Then select problematic face in graphics and right click and create virtual topology. Rerun meshing. This may help you to create meshing.

Keyur

Sir i am attaching the screenshot of the geometry failing to mesh.I wasn't able to create a .wbpz file though i have the wbpj file with me.Pls help me to do the meshing.I even tried using the symmetry principle for mesh generation but to npo avail

Kumar,
If you have the filename.wbpj file and the filename_files folder you can put those two in a zip file and attach the zip file.
Click on Mesh and in the Details window, where it says Element Size, type a number like 8 mm and then Generate Mesh. If you still get the error, type a smaller number.

Peter

Kumar,
I now see why you are having problems meshing. You have a very thin walled solid body.
What ANSYS needs for analysis is a midurface representation of this geometry. Not the solid body, but the surfaces that are half way between the faces. DesignModeler and SpaceClaim can create midsurfaces but since you are you on a Student license, there is a 300 face limit, and this body has 438 faces, so it is beyond the limit allowed by the free Student license, so you can't use DesignModeler or SpaceClaim to generate the midsurface.
What CAD system created this geometry? Some CAD systems can create midsufaces. I have attached a parasolid midsurface file created in NX11.
Once you have a midsurface, the meshing will be easily done after you type 10 mm for the Element Size in the Mesh Details window. You can then type 1.2 mm for the thickness of the surface in the Geometry branch.
Your geometry has a plane of symmetry. If you cut your solid in half in the CAD system, then there will be < 300 faces and you can create the midsurface in SpaceClaim or DM.

Peter

SIR
i am unable to open both files one being ansys 19 and other being a parasolid file.Could you pls provide me with step file and also i needed to carry out a simulation to find the optimum angle/critical angle at which this leaf plate be attached to a pole just like a leaf on a tree branch so that it encounters least stress/wind load.
What analysis should i carry out?Which analysis model to use?Kindly guide me

Kumar,
I have attached a Parasolid Version 24 (inside the zip file), which is supported in ANSYS 15, so that should read into ANSYS 16.0 that you are using, and also an ANSYS 15.0 project archive that you can restore in ANSYS 16.0
You need to add some images to explain where this leaf plate attaches to a pole. How is it attached? Is there a clamp? Adhesive?
What angle can the pole be relative to vertical?
To measure the angle of this leaf plate, what feature on the leaf plate are you measuring from, what reference are you measuring to?
There are three angles in space, what about the other two angles?
What is your definition of optimum for this leaf plate?
What is your definition of critical for this leaf plate?
What is the material for this leaf plate?
What is the velocity of the wind for which you want to design?
Please start a New Discussion in Multiphysics to ask your question about stress due to wind loading on this leaf plate, since this topic was on a meshing failure, which has been solved.

Peter

Thanks a lot sir.I got the file opened. But i request you to send the file as to what operations did u perform so that it could be meshed, pls let me know?Which part of the geometry did u apply midsurface feature,I really wanna see the mesh operations and controls performed in the workbench. Thanks a lot but for help

Kumar,
Import the step file into DesignModeler, Tools > Analysis Tools > Fault Detection.
24 Self Intersection faults are found. Fault 1 is the blend on the outside, without a matching blend on the inside.
DesignModeler is not able to delete the face, but in your original CAD system, you may be able to. Fortunately, if I pick all the 10 face pairs around that and ignore the corner blend, DesignModel can create a midsurface as shown below.
There are 438 faces in this solid model. Three of them are faces on the thickness, but that still is too many faces for me to pick manually, which is why I went out to the NX11 CAD system that automatically creates face pairs for midsurface creation.
Once I had a midsurface created elsewhere, the mesh controls I applied you can see in the ANSYS archive I provided.
Regards,
Peter
